Froggies, Subtraction & a Freebie!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!!!
I bought this adorable clip art from Graphics from the Pond this weekend and I just HAD to make something with it!

I seriously love buying new clip art.
It always inspires me to make something new!
{Even when I should be doing other things....
like grading papers ;) }

We've been working hard to learn our subtraction facts.
So here's a little subtraction freebie for you! :)

Click the link to download it!
I included a black & white version too.

Don't those bright colors make you feel like spring MIGHT be coming? :)

Enjoy your week!!

Five for Friday!

It's Friday Saturday!
That means it's time to link up with Doodle Bugs!

We've been learning how our addition facts can help us solve subtraction.
So we made a part-part-whole domino with ourselves!

The king (or queen!) got to pick the whole number.
The other two kiddos had to figure out two parts that made up that whole.
Then we drew dots on to show the parts.

Then they had to write two addition and subtraction sentences that went with their domino.
They loved it!!!!

We even made a class book of it.

The book is saved on my computer at school, so I'll share it with you later!! :)

We made kites!
My friend Jenn shared this craft and I LOVE it!
The kids put squares of tissue paper on and dab them with water.
Take the tissue paper off when it dries and you have a masterpiece!
We are working on adding bows with fact families. :)

We made these spring adjective umbrellas!
You can read more about them {HERE}!

I updated my Springy Adjective pack above!
I added a class book for the writing.

So if you've purchased it, hop over and re-download it!
If you haven't, it's on sale this weekend!!! :)
(Along with the rest of my store!!!)

I'm super excited about my long i: ie, igh pack!
Thanks to Krista at Creative Clips for the adorable little fireflies!
I love her clip art!!!!
Hop over to check out the whole pack: {Bright Lights & Fireflies}
(it's on sale this weekend!)

Here's a peek at what's inside!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Springy Adjectives!

Happy Spring my friends!
My kiddos are super excited about the warmer (maybe soon???) weather! :)
Yesterday we made this little project to describe spring!

Each of my kiddos picked the paper pattern they wanted for their umbrella.
They traced the umbrella handle and raindrops.
Then we thought of adjectives that described spring!
Here's what we came up with!!

The kids chose the words that they liked and wrote them on their raindrops.

Here they are in the hallway!
They're so nice and bright! :)

A close up ;)

Today we worked on our writing.
We used our raindrops to help us with our stories.
Their writing came out so great!!!!

You can get this pack here!

Check out last year's umbrellas too!

Have a happy Wednesday!

Trade and Grade!

A few of my bloggy friends and I paired up and swapped goodies!
We tested them out in our classrooms and now we're going to tell you about them.
I'm so excited to tell you about my friend Deb's product!!
Deb is from Not Very Fancy, stop by and visit her!!! :)

Deb was kind enough to share her Missing Part Equation Dominoes.

My kids LOVED these!
The set has four different sets of dominoes.
The sets are all a different color, so it's really easy to keep track of them!
Each domino has a math fact with a missing part.

The first set I introduced to my kiddos was the plus and minus with zero.
Here are a few of the cards so you can see what they look like!

The kids learned how to play really quickly and they were so excited to go, go, go!
To play, you start with the beginning card and solve for the missing part.
Then the kids have to find a diamond that has that missing number and attach it to the first domino.
They find the next missing number and find the diamond that matches.
Easy, peasy!

This is another set of cards.
A different color for easy organizing :)

The kids worked so well in teams to solve each of these!

These two were SO HAPPY when they solved their puzzle!

I really really liked that some of the cards had two addends on each side of the = sign.
I also liked that sometimes the sum or difference was on the LEFT side.
(as in 0=_+14.)
My kids need extra practice in that!

Another set has doubles facts and doubles +2 facts.

This group finished their's the fastest!
It was fun to see how they all made their domino shapes differently!

The last set is good for your more advanced kiddos!
This set adds two numbers to three numbers.
It was a bit more challenging than the others.
But these little smarties were doing great!

My kids LOVED Deb's Missing Part Dominoes!
They've been begging to use them every day since I first introduced them.
They are great as an individual game or for working in partners or teams.
I even sent a few sets home for homework!

Here's a little sample set for you to try out too! :)
I know you will love it!

St. Patrick's Day Fun!

Did you have any little visitors yesterday?
We did!!!

Some silly little leprechaun snuck in and set off all of our traps.
He left glitter all over!
We didn't catch him, but we DID catch pieces of him!!

He got into our paint and left tracks all over our desks!

The mischievous little guy also erased my morning message.
How rude!!!!
And wrote this!

One little boy said that the leprechaun went in his desk and took everything out of his working folder.
Do you believe him? :)

We also followed the leprechauns clues and searched the school for his hidden gold.
I wish you could see their faces!
They were SO excited!
(Thanks to one of my super teammates for planning this!)

The hunt ended in our classroom.
Sneaky little guy left the pot of gold in their while we were out hunting!

Lucky Charms graphing!!!

It was a super fun day!
The kids were still talking about the leprechaun today!
What trouble did your leprechauns cause?

Sunday Funday (FREEBIE ALERT!)

Sunday Funday!!!
I love Molly and Deirdre's link up!

Now, I don't have anything super duper exciting to share with you.
And the fun things I did, I don't have pictures of!!!
(Sorry!!!)

I could take a picture of my super bf putting in the window frames right now.
YAYYYY!!!! :)
But I don't think he would like that very much ;)

Soooooo...my Sunday Funday is more fun for you than me!
Why?
Well, because I have lots of freebies for you! :)

I was supposed to be working on my report cards today.
But that's no fun!!!
So instead, I organized everything on my new computer!
I found this little St. Patrick's Day set that I never posted.

I also found super cute detective clip art that I haven't used yet.
So, I made this little main idea page :)

Grab the Detective Reader here!

Last, but not least, we have conferences coming up this week.
I made this Parent-Teacher Conference form to help keep me a little more organized.
Grab it here!

Don't worry, I also finished my report cards! :)

I'm linking this up with Molly's Fabulous Freebies on the 15th too!

Have a fabulous week!
I hope the leprechauns don't go TOO crazy tomorrow! :)
