An Itty Bitty One Word Resolution!

The New Year is a time when everyone is setting goals for the year ahead.
I'm linking up with the girls over at Primary Powers for a fun little party....
Choose a one word resolution!

All afternoon, I've been trying to figure out one word.
I didn't think it would be this hard!
Happy was my first thought.
Then present, and on and on and on.

On my walk, this one came to mind. :)

Be.
By itself, it doesn't have too much meaning.
But it could go with every single one of the words I was thinking!

Be happy.
Be kind.
Be present.
Be peaceful.
Be inspiring.
Be caring.
Be positive.
Be YOU!

It's so easy to get caught up in the craziness of EVERYTHING and forget about what's important.
This little word can remind you that's it's important to stop every now and then and BE all of those things.

I can't wait to read your One Word Resolutions!

Weekend Warriors: December Deliciousness!

Happy Saturday friends!
I hope you all had a fabulous holiday!!!
I'm teaming up with my Weekend Warriors girlies to bring you December Deliciousness!

I'm always looking for new recipes.
Here are a few of my favorites!

This is a super delicious appetizer dish that my Gramma always made.
I wish I had a picture to show you how yummy it is!

If you can't eat dairy like me, it's just as yummy with dairy-free cheese and cream cheese! :)

This is my favorite dinner!
You can also add meat if you're a meat eater!

These are my favorite, favorite cookies.
My mom always made these at Christmas when we were little. :)

I do have a picture of these because I made them for Christmas!
MMMMMMM!!!

Hop over to these girlies' blogs and find some more yummy recipes!!

Grinch Day!!!

Grinch Day is my favorite!
We celebrated ours last week and I never got a chance to blog about it!

Here's a little sneak peak of our day! :)

First of all, even Jingles, our class elf, dressed up for the day.
He brought us Grinch Pills too.
He's the best elf ever!

We made Grinch masks.
How cute are they?!

Then we delivered goodies around to the teachers.
We love spreading holiday cheer! :)

We thought about ways that we could make the Grinch grin.

Throughout the whole week, the kids taped hearts to our Grinch for being nice!
Look how big we made his heart grow!!!! :)

At the end of the day, we watched the Grinch movie.
It was a busy, fun day filled with lots of holiday cheer!

Fa La La La La: Holiday Freebies!

This is such a busy time of the year!
I'm linking up with Primary Powers to share some freebies with you!
I hope they make the next few weeks a little less crazy!!! :)

First up, I have some reward coupons.
These work like charms!

I give them out for working nicely, raising hands, helping clean up, not being crazy, being a good listener....all kinds of things!

The kids write their name on the back and put them in this basket.

Here's the best part...
At the end of the day, I choose one winner!
The winner might get a prize or extra computer time or something else special!
The kids absolutely love it!!!

Next up, I have a little math freebie!

Don't forget to hop over to Primary Powers and grab some more freebies! :)

Jingle, Jingle!

We have a little elf visitor in our classroom!
Our little friend arrived on Monday.
BOY were the kids excited to find him!!!

His name is Jingle.

On Wednesday, Jingle hung out by the clip chart.
He even left a note at lunch to see how many of the kids could make it to super student by the end of the day!
Guess how many made it!!!

Thursday he was reading a book.
Friday he was too.
Oops!!!!!
Silly little elf forgot to move.

The kids thought he must be stuck on a word!
So they read him the page.
At lunch, he moved and left a little note to thank them for helping him! :)
Good thing I have such super duper readers! :)

I wonder what Jingle will be up to next week!
Have a happy weekend my friends!

Cyber Monday Blog Hop Stop #10!

Hi friends!!!
The Primary Powers girls and I have teamed up with GoNoodle!
We are here to share the ways that we use GoNoodle in our classroom!
Plus we have lots of goodies you could win!!! :)

This is stop #10 of our SUPER blog hop!
If you'd like to start from the beginning {CLICK HERE!}

My class LOVES GoNoodle.
They beg me to "Noodle" all the time!

My favorite time to use GoNoodle is during transition times.
I always do one between our reading groups and math block.
The kids have our routine down.
They know that after reading groups, they can find a "Noodle Spot!"

Here they are doing the Dinosaur Stomp.
This one's my personal favorite! :)

They always work so quietly and nicely during our reading groups.
They all need a little break before we jump into math.
So what better way is there?!

There are so many fun brain breaks!
The kids all have their favorites.
There are fun ones.
There are Kidz Bop ones.
There are math ones.
You name it, it's there!!!

GoNoodle gives the kids a chance to get their wiggles out.
It helps them get ready to focus for what's coming next!

Sometimes we do a math one to get our brains thinking about math instead of reading. ;)
Here's a skip counting one that the kids LOVE!

Not only does GoNoodle give the kids a little break during transition times,
but you can use it during indoor recess, as a class reward, or before/after testing!

When you set up an account (which is SUPER easy!), you'll get to choose a class champ.
After so many brain breaks, your champ grows!

Why does he grow?
The more brain breaks you do, the stronger and SMARTER you get! :)

If you haven't tried GoNoodle, you NEED to!
I promise you'll have so much fun and it will help your class be ready to learn! :)

Here's a special surprise from GoNoodle!!!

Starting on Cyber Monday, GoNoodle is also offering all Primary Powers readers 30% off purchases from the GoNoodle Shop through December 8! Use the code POWERS30 at checkout to receive the discount PLUS a special gift from GoNoodle and Primary Powers.
