Reading Spaceships!

I have the cutest idea to share with you!!!!!

A few weeks ago, we started using Reading Spaceships. 

Oh. My. Goodness.  

First of all, they're the cutest things ever. 

AND they make reading SO MUCH FUN!

I got the idea from my friend Alyssa from Soar Into Teaching.

Look how cute hers are!!!!!!

She has a space theme in her room, so her kiddos are soaring into learning. 

ADORABLE!!!

My classroom theme is superheroes, so ours is a superhero spaceship. 

I think you could make it work for any theme!!!

I REALLY love her 4 rules for riding in the spaceship.

The most important one is that when you're in the spaceship, 

no one can hear you and you can't hear them.  

I made a pretty big deal about that. ;)

When I introduced them into my room, I had one of the kids model how it worked. 

He modeled it perfectly!

When he got out, he said, "I really couldn't hear any of you!"

It was the cutest thing ever!

The kids were SO excited. 

They said they were going to Planet Read and Planet Book.

I love them so much. :)

I keep our spaceship in our Read to Self center.

The kids take turns using it. 

They're so focused when they're in it!!!!

I love watching them read!

It makes my teacher heart happy. :)

When it's time to land, I pretend to type on an invisible keyboard and make beep beep beep noises, 

you know, since they can't hear me when they're up in space. ;)

They looooooove it!!!
