Fire Safety!

It's Fire Safety Week!
Have you been teaching all about fire safety?!

We've been doing all kinds of things to learn how to be safe in case of a fire.

I know with my class, fire drills are often scary.
The first few drills we had at school,
the kids were warned in advance that it was going to happen.
The last time we weren't warned.
Boy were they worried!

Fires are scary and we want kids to know what to do in case there is an emergency...without panicking!

This little game makes fire safety a little less scary,
while teaching kids the important things to do in case there is a real fire.
It's just like Simon Says!
The kids have to do what the Firefighter Says!

My kids had a blast playing it!
It was a nice brain break shared by, but it also taught them how to be safe in case of a fire.
The more they practice, the safer and more calm they'll be if there ever is a real fire. :)

I bet your kids would love it too!!

Editable Newsletters!

Do you send home weekly newsletters for parents?
I always do because I like to keep them informed about what we're doing in class.
I used to spend so much time making my newsletters
and trying to find clipart to match our theme each week.

Last year I decided to make it easy.
And boy did it save me a LOT of time!

This set of newsletters has EVERY season, theme, and holiday you will ever need!
182 different options to choose from!
The best part is that they're EDITABLE
Just add your own text to the boxes and you're good to go. :)

You'll find newsletters for back to school, apples, fall, Halloween, fire safety...
You name it, it's probably in there!

It's quick and easy to add text.

Keep your parents involved this year with these easy to use newsletters!

You can also try a free sample to see how you like them!

Happy Monday everyone!

Sending Sunshine! {happy notes for parents}

I love to send home positive little notes about my kiddos when they've done something really great or worked really hard.
Many times things get crazy and busy and I end up forgetting.
Last year my goal is to send home a few notes every week!
These little sunshine notes to made it super quick and easy. :)

There are 25 different notes.
Each comes in color and black & white.
I like to print the black & white ones on super bright paper to make everyone even happier! :)

I print up a bunch at the beginning of the year and keep them in a binder.
That way they're all ready to go when I need one!

Just write a quick little note about what your little one did and send it home!

It's sure to make someone smile!

I also included this little recording sheet to keep track of when you send them home.
I like to make sure everyone gets one!
You can just check off or write which note you sent. :)

Sending home positive notes about a child is SO important!
It makes the parents, the child, and you feel good. :)

Have a sunshine-y day!!

Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is coming!
What do your kids make for their moms?

I make this gift every year.
I just love it!

Sometimes I plant seeds with the kids.
Sometimes I buy little flowers and the kids plant them.
We make a handprint butterfly and stick it in with a popsicle stick!
Add a poem to the front and BOOM!
Super cute Mother's Day gift!!

I usually wrap them up with tissue paper so they look even prettier. :)

I always get compliments on them!!!

This year we also made these adorable little Flippy Flowers!
The kids wrote the SWEETEST things about their moms.

Tomorrow we're making these little books.
I can't wait to read what they write!!!!

Enjoy the rest of the week!!!

Emoji Management!

Who doesn't love emojis?!
They are so cute and so fun.
I've been using them for behavior management with my class.
They work like a charm!

When I saw these little cuties, I just HAD to have them.
(I got them at Walmart!)

The only problem is that I want MORE!
And I can't find them anywhere.
Sad face emoji.

I keep these little guys where the kids can see them.
If I see someone working really hard, they hop onto that person's desk. :)
I love their little smiles when I put one on their desk.

There's one rule.
You can't touch them!
It's's so hard....they're so cute and fun. ;)

My favorite thing is when they ask if I can move the emojis to so-and-so's desk
because they're working really hard too.
Melt my heart. <3

We obviously had to name our new friends.
This is Miss Lovely.
When she sits on your desk she says, "I love your work! I love your work!"
(in a cute and sweet voice)

Our other friend is Mr. Cool.
When he sits on your desk, he says, "Whoooa!  Nice work dude!"
(in a surfer voice, obviously)

They seriously work like magic!
As soon as the kids see me head toward Miss Lovely and Mr. Cool, EVERYONE is working hard.
I told them I need one for each of them!

What do you use for classroom management?!
Have a happy week!

Reading Spaceships!

I have the cutest idea to share with you!!!!!
A few weeks ago, we started using Reading Spaceships.
Oh. My. Goodness.
First of all, they're the cutest things ever.
AND they make reading SO MUCH FUN!

I got the idea from my friend Alyssa from Soar Into Teaching.
Look how cute hers are!!!!!!

She has a space theme in her room, so her kiddos are soaring into learning.
My classroom theme is superheroes, so ours is a superhero spaceship.
I think you could make it work for any theme!!!

I REALLY love her 4 rules for riding in the spaceship.

The most important one is that when you're in the spaceship,
no one can hear you and you can't hear them.
I made a pretty big deal about that. ;)

When I introduced them into my room, I had one of the kids model how it worked.
He modeled it perfectly!
When he got out, he said, "I really couldn't hear any of you!"
It was the cutest thing ever!

The kids were SO excited.
They said they were going to Planet Read and Planet Book.
I love them so much. :)

I keep our spaceship in our Read to Self center.
The kids take turns using it.

They're so focused when they're in it!!!!
I love watching them read!
It makes my teacher heart happy. :)

When it's time to land, I pretend to type on an invisible keyboard and make beep beep beep noises,
you know, since they can't hear me when they're up in space. ;)
They looooooove it!!!

Thanks for the amazing idea Alyssa!!!
Have a happy week my friends!!!
